A Look Inside (And Outside) Our New McNabb Land

A sunny view from my backyard

Just after sunrise (from the back porch)

I could sit out here all day watching Laney's "moo cows" graze (she thinks the cows came with the house! shh! I'm not telling her that they didn't)

Outside front of house

I'm planning to put some colorful flowers in the beds on both sides of the porch and also on the walkway

From the front porch, looking off to the side toward the back yard (and the girls' swingset)

My bradford pear tree in the front yard. The flowers in the bed are iris' that will bloom (hopefully) in May or June

From the front porch looking toward the driveway

Half of the front porch

This is a 16x20 of Paisley. Just thought I'd throw this picture in because it's one of my favorites that I just hung on the wall in the living room

One corner of our living room. Also, a 16x20 of Destiny :) I LOVE my striped curtains and had these same curtains hanging in our old home. I was very excited to discover they worked in these windows too!

Another picture thrown in just for fun. Laney loving on Sugar in MY chair. And yes, that is a photo blanket draped over my chair....love me some pictures of my babies!

Looking into the kitchen from the living room. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my french doors. This house is so much brighter than the old one! I love my windows and these doors. I only cover the windows and doors at night so we can almost always see outside (on the odd chance that we aren't already sitting outside!)

This one is really similar to the photo above, but I included this one to give you a better idea of the color in the living room and kitchen. The paint color I chose was called "Sandy Pebble" and I think it really brightened those two rooms alot. The color we painted over was a weird brown color and it was really dark in there....even with the curtains open and the lights on. I like this so much better.

More of the living room. I want to hang some more photos on the walls, but I have to wait until I can afford to have some photos of Laney printed. I have tons of printed pics of the sisters, but the only prints I have of Laney is the 16x20 of her yawning and 2 that are already framed on the TV

Destiny's room.

Looking into Destiny's room. Also, a 16x2o of Laney :)

They're playing in there now, but I took this one to show the actual color (aqua) of Destiny's bedroom

A picture just to show the actual color of Paisley and Laney's bedroom

Laney and Paisley's room. Notice that Laney and Sugar have made themselves at home on Paisley's bed.

So there you have it. (Sorry the pics were such bad quality. They were all taken with my phone. I found my camera, but now I can't remember where I hid my charger.) We still have a few things that need to be done, but we're already thrilled with what we've accomplished with it so far. I will eventually get some rugs for the girls' rooms, some new bath towels, wash cloths, and dish towels (I'm in need of some new ones anyway), maybe an area rug for the living room, and I still need to buy the paint for the bathroom that the girls are all sharing. They want it to be pink...lol go figure. It's a work in progress, but it feels like home and I'm just happy to finally live in a place where I feel like I belong.

Blah, Blah, Blah

Feels like it's been forever since my last real post. I've tried to post on here so many times in the last little while, but I just end up with a blank screen and a feeling of failure. I've just felt so dark and depressed. There's alot of "junk" going on around here, but I'll spare you most of the details. None of it matters anyway.
There have been days when I had to force myself to get out of bed. There have been days when I couldn't even make myself get out of bed and so I laid there all day looking at the ceiling or the wall. I just have this "blah" feeling. This feeling that I need to cry instead of smile. Call it a pity party, or depression, or whatever....it just stinks. I'm working at fixing that.

I went to the salon and had my hair done. Got a short cut with layers. Now I can't even get a ponytail out of what's left:) Great way to force me to fix it in the mornings. I got highlights too. Nothing really drastic, just different from the same old drabby/frumpy me that I'm used to seeing when I look in the mirror.

Delaney got a new puppy. This makes four that we have now (in case you lost count!) Our house is chock full of chihuahuas now. (I love that phrase-but can't take credit for it. Thank you, SkippyJon Jones) She calls her little pup Co-co, or Cocoa. Wait til she learns to spell and then I'll ask her which is the correct way. Until then, it's just Co-co pup. Reminds me of the cereal, Cocoa puffs. Great, now I'm hungry. For some reason, all of our four-legged, furry babies end up with food names. Sugar, honey, tater, cocoa....sounds like a weird recipe to me. Or maybe it's just suitable for the residents of McNabb Land.

Still haven't come up with any idea of what to review for CSN. I've noticed that alot of the blogs I read are doing reviews for them as well. I've been watching to see what they select, hoping to get ideas. No luck yet. The girls are having trouble agreeing on one item. They all want something different. I guess that means that I'll have to pick something that everyone can enjoy.

Paisley had a field trip to Chattanooga yesterday. We went to the Creative Discovery Museum. I always chaperone their trips. She had fun, and I got to watch 6 girls and 4 boys (the group we were in charge of) run around like little crazy people. It's a shame that I was the only parent that signed up to chaperone her class. A smaller group to be in charge of would have made it easier to spend time with Paisley. I dragged (drug?!) my sister along with me. Come to think of it, she goes on all of their field trips too (I love you sissy-poo!)

If you think of it, and feel led to do so, could you please say a little prayer for my dad? He's going thru a hard time right now. I'm worried about him, my mom, my brother. Just worried about everything, I guess. Your prayers would be appreciated:)

Hugs to you all. I'm sorry I haven't been commenting on your blogs lately. I do still read everything, I just feel so "blah" that I can't really think of anything good to say to anyone. I do still think of all of my blogging friends often though, and am so glad to have you all in my life.
