Be Careful!

This is the last day of 2009, can you believe it? This year has been so long for us, but it also seems to have passed by so quickly. How is that possible? To feel like time is dragging and rushing at the same time? Maybe I'm just weird?
Tonight we will ring in 2010 in front of the TV with sparkling grape juice. I'm not really much of a drinker and Bobby won't drink even a sip of anything EVER. That's just how we are. No drinking here. But alot of other people will be drinking...some of them just a little bit socially and some of them heavily. I pray that those that choose to ring in the New Year with alcohol will do it safely at home. Please do not drink and then get behind the wheel! You never know what could happen.
Early on Monday morning, a 22 year old woman that lives not far from us was driving home from taking her 3 month old daughter to the ER. She and her husband ran out of gas and got out of the car to walk into town. They were almost right in front of my house (less than a mile from their home) when a 20 year old, intoxicated man swerved over to the shoulder of the road and hit her. He drove away and left her to die. He says he thought he hit a deer, but really was just too drunk to know the difference. A 3 month old baby girl is without a mommy today and a young man is having to bury his wife because this guy (not even old enough to legally drink) chose to get behind the wheel and drive while drunk. My heart is broken for this young family.
Please drink responsibly this New Year's. Hand over those keys. Call a friend to come drive you home. Spend the night where ever you are.
Please, don't drink and drive. And those of you that aren't going to be drinking, be careful if you're on the road. You may be sober, but the driver in the other lane might not be!

Arts & Crafts At The McNabb Land Zoo

I'm short on words this week....short on time too! I am simply spending time at home with the girls. We are making the most out of the time we have left before school starts back:) Hope you all are enjoying your own family this week!

Christmas In McNabb Land 2009

Christmas in McNabb Land is over now and WHEW! I'm tired! We took the girls to spend Christmas Eve with their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We always make our family visits on Christmas Eve and then spend Christmas Day at home. We went to the in-laws first, after all, they only live next door:) After spending some time there, we came home and let the girls have some "calm down" time (lots of running around with the cousins had them all hyped up!) so that we could make the drive to my parents house. It was a wonderful day full of family, food, fun, and nice (for the most part) conversation. We came home and crashed.

Christmas morning came quickly. It felt like I had barely placed my head on my pillow before the girls were up and ready to go! Watching them open their gifts this year was a fun experience. All 3 of the girls were so excited to wake up to presents. A dear friend blessed us by helping this Christmas and the girls were anxious to see what "santa" had brought them. You'll have to forgive me for posting so many pictures. I just couldn't help myself:) The first 4 pictures are from Christmas Eve night. We let the girls open one gift that night with my in-laws. I also have photos from spending time at my parents house, but I will have to post them later....can't get them to upload big enough to view:(

After they had opened all the presents, they settled in to play with or try on their new things while Bobby and I got to work on cooking our Christmas meal. Later, while gathered 'round the table, I looked around at all the happy and healthy faces and said a silent thank you to God for the blessings we received this year. Spending this Christmas at home surrounded by those that I love the most truly made this the best Christmas ever.
