Sugar, Pink Eye, and A Toy Train

I'm feeling a little better today. Thank you for the kind comments on yesterday's post. Sugar is still hanging on and I am hopeful that she will continue to hang on until I am able to get her to surgery. It wasn't looking so late yesterday afternoon. She was cold and starting to feel a little stiff to the touch. I am giving her antibiotics to help with the infection until we can get the surgery. That will hopefully be very soon:) A dear friend on mine (who wishes to remain anonymous) is helping me with some of the payment and my sister is going to try to help me pay for the rest and I will pay her back as soon as I am able. I spent most of yesterday calling around to other vets, trying to find someone that can help us. I was told that $91 was the best deal I would probably find considering that Sugar is so ill. The animal shelter said I don't qualify for one of their free spay vouchers because the animal has to be healthy to get a free spay and Sugar is not healthy right now:( I am praying that she will keep fighting this infection and get a little stronger before we send her in to surgery.

Paisley woke up this morning with pink eye. I kept her home from school and am taking her to the doctor after lunch. She was just excited to be staying home with me today:) I've heard that pink eye is going around at school so I'm not really shocked that she's got it now. She's not really letting it bother her so I won't let it worry me. I remember having pink eye as a child. It was not fun!

Laney is doing so much better. I think the RSV is gone now. She will go to the doctor for a recheck on Friday. I'm pretty sure that she will get a clean bill of health (other than her runny nose!) from her pediatrician.

I just found out this morning that I won a giveaway over at
Sacred and Profane!!! Look what I won:
Delaney is going to love getting this for Christmas!!!! She plays with a train just like it at therapy and has always cried when Miss Tina puts it away. Now she'll have one of her very own, and I'll have another present to put under my tree! Thank you to Heidi for hosting that giveaway. And thank you Random.org for picking my number! You rock!!!!

  3. Oh no! I can understand why you're so upset...it really bums me out that there are no vets who would be willing to do the surgery and just let you make payments, as you can make them. I know vets have to make $$ too but my goodness, you'd think just one of them would be in a giving spirit this time of year. I hope Sugar will be okay.

  4. What good news about the possiblity of Sugar's upcoming surgery. I know that you are saddened at the fact that it can't be sooner. I'm sad about that too.... I wish a vet would do the surgery for a Christmas gift to you.
I love the toy trains! Congratulations. Delaney is going to be so happy with that!
I'm glad that Lainey is better....and hope that Paisley's Pink Eye goes away soon.
Continue to take care of yourself, Kaleena.
    Smiles from Jackie

  5. Yay! I'm glad to hear there's probably going to be a positive outcome for your little dog. I used to love to get pink eye when I was a kid because it was a non-sick, sick day meaning I could stay home "sick" but still get to play. Congrats on your win! I won a hair ribon for my daughter a few weeks back too. I love it! AND did you enter to win the computer on MckMama's blog. If you didn't you'd better head on over now, what with you being so lucky and all you just might win again!

  6. Hey again, I just wanted to tell you that I'm taking a little break from blogging for a while. I'm still going to have my blog, and I'll be commenting and keeping in touch, it's just for personal heart reasons that I'd rather not display on the web... I did some explaining on my blog but yeah. If it isnt too weird I'd like to keep in touch through email or facebook if you have an account... I hope you have an amazing Christmas, know that many prayers and hugs are sent your way everyday!!
