I wanted to update everyone on my MRI results, but I can't because I haven't had my MRI yet. Truth be told, I most likely won't be having my MRI anytime soon, if at all. I am actually glad that I wasn't able to make it to the first appointment that was scheduled for me because it might have been a waste of time. A few of you said that maybe it just was not in God's plan for me to have the MRI performed that particular day. My insurance has declined payment for the MRI at this time. My doctor is appealing the decision and filed what is called a PA (prior authorization), but so far, we have no answers. I am praying that we can get a good answer soon so that I can get the results and do whatever I need to do to make this worry go away. My doctor seems confident that the PA will do the trick and my MRI will be paid for. If not, I would have to pay for a large portion of the cost of the MRI before the MRI is performed. We just don't have that kind of money laying around right now. Between the economy and Bobby's numerous surgeries, extra money is somewhat of a luxury for us right now....a luxury we have not had!!! I do good if I can afford to buy diapers for Laneybug's bottom right now! And I ran out of gas, not once, but TWICE last week! Long story short, paying for an MRI, while necessary, is just not feasible at this time. I pray that my insurance approves the payment. I also pray that one day diapers grow on trees (but that's a different blog post for another day:).
As for other things in my life right now. My little Laneybug starts physical therapy on Friday! I am so excited for her. However, I am not excited about what this means for my already cram-packed weekly schedule. We now have a pulminologist, 2 cardiologists, allergist, Gastro-interologist, 2 neurologists, neurosurgeon, a therapist, and as of Friday, a physical therapist! Whew! Add those to the growing list of pediatrician appointments, eye exams for Laney, and "mommy's Dr's appointments"! Need I say more? It's exhausting! On the upside, I AM really looking forward to physical therapy for Laney. The possibility of her being able to walk soon is well worth the added appointments on my schedule! She will be 17 months old at the end of this month and I hope to have her walking (if not running!) by the time she is 20 months old. I am not sure if that is a realistic goal for her, but I certainly intend to find out on Friday! Here are some pictures of "miss Laneybug" just in case you need a quick Laney-fix.
This is my sleeping Laneybug. She falls asleep every time I put her in the car. She's usually snoring before we can even get out of the driveway!
This is my sneaky Laneybug. We were at school eating lunch with the sisters. She was reaching over to the table to steal a bite of sister's lunch!
This is my happy Laneybug. We are in the car getting ready to go "bye-bye" and Laney LOVES to go "bye-bye!" I guess she considers it a great chance to catch up on her sleep!
How sweet and precious. Praying the approval goes through quickly on your MRI as I know how expensive they are and how you don't need this extra burden today. Prayers that PT goes well and I'll bet Laney will be running about in no time!
ReplyDeleteBtw: you'd make a fortune if you could develop that diaper tree!!
What DARLING pics, Kaleena! Just love those photo updates.
ReplyDeleteListen, I want to weigh in yet again on the medical stuff because there has GOT to be a reason I've gone through all of this! lol
It WAS God's provision that your MRI was delayed and you didn't get stuck with a $5000 bill. Yes, that's about what they cost. My insurance has always required a pre-auth but has never failed to approve it at the drs. request. And I've had 8 MRI's. I truly believe God will open this door for you. One tip: If you are at all claustrophobic and MRI could bother you. ASK IN ADVANCE FOR TRANQUILIZERS to get you through. It works. I know - as the queen of claustrophobia!
It may not be an issue for you but you don't want to find out it is and then have to reschedule yet again!
Love, prayers, and big hugs to you all, Dearheart.
Kaleena!
ReplyDeleteLoved YOUR name morphs as well. Perhaps we should start a name morph club. I think there are LOTS of us! lol
HEY LISTEN UP! Was that commanding enough? Here's another tip. You can ask for an OPEN MRI. That is an MRI that is not done in a tube. It is a long table with a huge disc shaped thing above you. The sides are open, hence the name. I still need meds even for this but it is FAR preferable to the tube type. Most major cities will have these and even some smaller ones. Also, insurance may kick but they have to accomodate you if you tell them you're claustrophobic. Call ahead. Be your own advocate. You know you do this for the girls. Now take care of YOU!
I'm sorry it's been such a huge undertaking for you to get your MRI. I really hope your insurance comes through for you!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics of Laney...esp the one of her sleeping in the carseat. There's something so adorable and innocent about a sleeping baby!
I'm so relieved I'm not the only one who finds the Imagination Movers totally hot!
still praying for you..... your little girls are so sweet!
ReplyDeletebeautiful pictures of your sweet girls!!!
