I thought it would be fun to look back at our anniversay timeline:
July 16, 2000 We were married at 11:00 a.m. at Healing Hearts
- July 16, 2001: We spent the day being lazy at home. I cooked him dinner.
- July 16, 2002: We went to dinner and a movie
- July 16, 2003: We spent the night in Labor & Delivery awaiting the arrival of Paisley. I saved some money on a gift that year, as I gave him a child instead. How's that for creative thinking?
- July 16, 2004: We spent our entire day getting ready for Paisley's 1st birthday party. Guess I really didn't think things through on the whole "have a baby on the morning after our wedding anniversary" idea.
- July 16, 2005: We had dinner at home with the kids. He forgot that it was our anniversary! Guess that meant the honeymoon was over!
- July 16, 2006: It was spent at Children's Hospital. Destiny had her tonsils removed and what was supposed to be a "day surgery" turned into a 8 day hospital stay. Stubborn Destiny decided to get an infection in her throat.
- July 16, 2007: We went to dinner at a little restaurant in town, came home to a childless house, and spent the night snuggling on the sofa while watching movies. Ahh, Heaven!
- July 16, 2008: This was a FUN one! We spent this night in Parkwest Hospital in the CCU, where Bobby was recovering from heart surgery (7-15-08) and brain surgery (7-8-08) and so doped up on morphine and oxycodone(him-not me!) that he was having hallucinations. With the aid of pain meds, he apparently spent the evening with an invisible woman who kept mopping the floor in his hospital room, while he watched a little green man chase a peanut butter sandwich up the wall. I, on the other hand, got the pleasure of lifting my feet up everytime the invisible woman wanted to mop under my chair, and trying to reason with the little green man to "just let it go" and come to terms with the fact that the peanut butter sandwich could run faster than he could. Oh, good times! Good times!
- July 16, 2009: Yet to be determined. Stay tuned....Never know what this one will bring!
As for the timeline-that wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be. I need to make up a better timeline to tell the grandkids someday. They'll likely decide granny and gramps were pathetic!
On a final note, we had 2 wonderful (in my opinion) songs for our wedding. Ah memories! I picked the first one and Bobby picked the second one.
Our love is unconditional
We knew it from the start
I can see it in your eyes
You can feel it from my heart
From here on after
Let's stay the way we are right now
And share all the love and laughter
That a lifetime will allow
I cross my heart
And promise to
Give all I've got to give
To make all your dreams come true
In all the world
You'll never find
A love as true as mine
You will always be the miracle
That makes my life complete
And as long as there's still breath in me
I'll make yours just as sweet
As we look into the future
It's as far as we can see
So let's make each tomorrow
Be the best that it can be
I cross my heart
And promise to
Give all I've got to give
To make all your dreams come true
In all the world
You'll never find
A love as true as mine
And if along the way we find a day
It starts to storm
You've got the promise of my love
To keep you warm
I cross my heart
And promise to
Give all I've got to give
To make all your dreams come true
In all the world
You'll never find
A love as true as mine
I'm gonna love you forever,
I'm gonna love you forever,
Happy Anniversary honey, I love you forever!
