Venting....An Update Of Sorts
Thank you for the kind comments on my venting post. I am grateful for the prayers. I got several emails and comments suggesting that I contact the bank, so I decided to just give a quick post response:) I went to the bank and begged them to work with me. They refused to even discuss the matter with me because my name isn't on the loan. They said my dad has been difficult to deal with and refuses to contact them regarding his other loan. They feel it is in the best interest of their institution to cut their losses and break all ties with him as a customer. They figure that the only way the bank would get any compensation for the loss of a loan the size of his would be to take my car as the collateral for his unpaid loan. I guess it's the only way they can see fit to handle the situation. I just don't understand how punishing me is helping the bank! My dad doesn't seem to mind that they are taking my car in lieu of payment on his loan. It doesn't affect him....he still has a car. He refuses to call the bank on my behalf and tells me to simply "find another car." My dad has started the process of filing chapter 7 bankruptcy and isn't ever going to have to pay off his debts. He pulled his home out of the bankruptcy so he keeps his home, his car, and all the things he's bought with his personal loans and credit cards. The way I see it, the only one losing out in this deal is my family. He can restablish his credit in a few months and live just fine. It'll take us months to come up with the means to replace our only car. The whole situation is stressful, and we are grateful to be in your prayers. Thank you friends.

I know it rains on the just and the unjust but it sure is hard when they seem to have umbrellas and we have to stand in the rain naked. But God knows and as I tell myself, and the kids, on a regular basis - People are not our source. God is our source. I'm so sorry, Kaleena. I hope an answer comes your way soon.
ReplyDeletePraying for you and this situation. I feel so bad for you, Kaleena, and hope that His plan for transportation is revealed to you quickly.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this! It seems the banks are inhumane. Is that the right word? I guess what I mean, they are not realizing what they are doing is really damaging to someone else. You in this case. I do pray something good happens here. You need it, desperately. I am keeping you and your family in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteHi Kaleena....You don't know me, and I don't know you. I am a blogging friend of several people that are prayer warriors...and I intend to pray for you and your situation regarding your car and the upcoming school year for your girls. I am a retired school teacher. I love children....have grandchildren....and most of all, I love the Lord.
ReplyDeleteIf you need bookbags for your girls, or clothes or school supplies, please, post me back on my blog or let me know here on yours. Our church takes care of things like this every year, and it just so happens that this weekend we are doing just that....no strings attached. I also can and will be willing to personally help. I live in South Georgia, and it wouldn't be far for me to send the items via snail mail. I am your Sister in Christ, and we should try and help each other when we can.
The first and most important thing I can do for you (and you can do for me in return) is to pray that God will provide the way....and show us the way...and belive and trust that He will. If we pray believing, He will not fail us. That is His promise. Feel free to let me know...either here on your blog or on mine...and let me know where I can send the items. I hope that you feel the love of Christ always....and that you keep a sweet spirit....as you seem to have....and pass on the love of Christ. Smiles to you from Jackie
I'm sorry things are so tough for you right now. I too will be praying for your family.
