Leaving McNabb Land?
I have been crazy-busy for the last week now. It's been a good kind of crazy busy though. My husband surprised me with a trip out of town on Friday evening. We loaded up the SUV with kids, clothes, DVD's for the car ride, and pillows Friday evening, then took to the open road. We drove several hours away from McNabb Land and stayed in a sweet little unoccupied cottage that belongs to a friend of ours. It felt so good to be away from the stress and hatefulness of daily routine! It's amazing how good life can be when we get away from the in-laws for awhile. This was a pleasure trip for the most part, but my husband DID have a few tricks up his sleeve for our little adventure. We actually went to look at a few houses!!!! Yes, it's true. My husband had FINALLY gotten tired of the childish antics of his family and is wanting to move us SEVERAL HOURS away from those that are causing me so much misery! We found a beautiful little place, well within our budget, after looking at only 3 houses. The place is PERFECT for the 5 of us and we are hoping that it works out. I can't believe he's even willing to consider moving, let alone willing to consider moving so far away from where he was raised. I moved around alot growing up, but my husband has lived in the same little town his entire life. We came home on Memorial Day and spent the remainder of the day trying to clean the pool. Yuck! It would have been easier to drain it and refill it with water. Tuesday was spent running around trying to fix my checking account (LONG, sad, story that begins with a long-time "friend" of mine stealing alot of money out of my checking account-money that wasn't really there to steal!) in between Laney's therapy appointments and taking the girls' to their last 2 hours of school for the year. Wednesday was spent at the pediatrician's office with Delaney getting a routine check-up and blood work, followed by an appointment with my case manager for our health insurance. I went to bed early that night too, as I was just too tired to hold my eyes open any longer. Thursday (today), I have been tying up loose ends on fixing our checking account and taking Laney to therapy (Occupational therapy). I'm also struggling to adapt to having 3 children home with me all the time. It's not as easy to go to routine appointments with 3 following along. Believe me, Laney's therapy is impossible with the older girls tagging along. Laney refuses to concentrate with them around to distract her! Anywho...tomorrow will be Laney's first speech therapy appointment and I am anxious to hear what the speech therapist has to say about our sweet girl. We will be going out of town again this weekend and I couldn't be happier. Our friend has offered us the use of her cabin anytime we take a notion to use it. I'm not ashamed to admit that we plan to take advantage of that offer as often as possible! At least until we move (fingers crossed) to that area permanently. Next week will be pretty busy for us also. My birthday is on Saturday the 6th of June so I think I'll take the day off and catch up on some "me" time. We never do anything on my birthday anyway, so it will be the perfect opportunity to relax with a good book or a movie on the sofa. Sometime soon I will post some pictures of the girls' graduation and our prospective house. Until next time....have a fantastic week!

Wow, that is a great husband! Very giving and considerate of him to consider moving to help alleviate some of the stress you feel. I hope everything comes together for you.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you!!! You don't need negative people in your life. Imagine, they call themselves family.
ReplyDeleteI will pray that everything works out with your new house. I will also pray for those who seem to think that they have the right to judge and be hurtful. I wonder who they will pick on now!!!
Good luck!
You have enough going on in your life. You have YOUR family. You don't need them.
I have a very big smile on my face right now for you.
God Bless,
Cathy!
