So after we came home from the doctor, we sat down to have some lunch. Tonight is graduation at school, so we'll be having a late dinner. I figured I better feed Laney really good at lunch and we'll have a snack before we leave for graduation. Maybe that will hold her until we get home. She's a little piggy and likes to have her meals on time! Such a little boss lady! Well, she gobbled up her lunch and I gave her some crayons to colr with in her highchair so that I could get a few things done. She was happy to color for a bit, but soon got very sleepy. She's kinda like her mommy (a full tummy makes me sleepy too!) She fell asleep in her highchair and I didn't want to wake her to move her. I felt bad about her looking so uncomfortable in that seat. Her head was just laying on that hard tray. But I really didn't want to have a cranky Delaney after disturbing her nap. What to do, what to do? Snap! I've got it! Lightbulb clicks on and I have a brilliant idea!!! Or maybe not. You may just think I'm insane and need my mommy card revoked? So, how did I make Delaney's nap in her highchair a comfy one? Well, I'll tell you. Try to be open-minded though, okay? the problem was that her little face was resting on her highchair tray and the tray is a hard surface, so she needed a pillow. Well, of course I can't lay her nearly face-down on a pillow! That might be considered a tad bit dangerous. So I just needed to find an alternative. That's where the lightbulb clicks on. My brilliant idea. It turns out, good old fashioned white bread has several uses. Not only does it make a tasty sandwich at lunch or snack, it makes a handy dandy pillow for those spur of the moment highchair naps! Feel free to borrow my idea next time your little one needs a naptime pillow.

And where is the adorable picture to go with it? Very clever use of bread and brain! I have left sleeping children sleep just about every place imaginable and they were none worse for it!! I say way to go, you wonderbread warrior :)
ReplyDeleteLOL ... well, that is one way to do it. I'm with Vicky, a picture would have been perfect.
