Home Again, Home Again, Dancing A Jig

We are home and I am dancing! Well, not really dancing, but I would be, if I had the energy to dance. Paisley is doing fine and her heart rate is now at the level that it is meant to be at. Her pneumonia is still present, but her cough is not as ugly as it was two days ago. She should make a full recovery just in time for Halloween:)
My insomnia is still driving me nuts and I have yet to get a good night of sleep. I have enough "baggage" under my eyes to go on an extended holiday abroad. Not a pretty sight. I will most likely be the scariest creature lurking around come Halloween. Thank you all for praying for Paisley. It really means alot to us:)

♥♥♥♥♥♥

While I was away, I was awarded the Honest Scrap award (by 2 different people!!!) and it is now my duty to pass it on to someone (actually, to 7 someones) else.
Thank you to
Kate's Life and Embracing My Quirks for giving me this award!

The Honest Scrap Award is given to those whose blogs you find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged you. It does come with a few rules (BOO to rules!) and the rules are as follows:

1)You must thank the person who gave the award and list their blog and link it.
2) You must share "10 Honest Things" about yourself.
3) You have to present this award to 7 others whose blogs you find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged you.
4) Last, you must tell those 7 people they've been awarded HONEST SCRAP and inform them of these guidelines in receiving the award.

Here are my 10 honest things:

1.) I WAS a smoker. I started smoking when I was 14 (naughty girl!) and smoked until I was 24. I never smoked in my house (because of the kids and the stinky smell) and one day I just decided that I was too lazy to go outside in the cold. So I just quit smoking. That's it. No trying to quit or wear patches or taking medicine-I was just too lazy to keep smoking.

2.) I was not a blushing bride. It's not something that I have ever shared on my blog before. We were pregnant with Destiny when we got married. She, however, was not the only reason that we got married. We were planning to marry one day anyway. She just sped things up a bit.

3.) I graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA

4.) I giggle when I'm sleepy. Seriously. I get all giddy and do silly things. Like laying under the kitchen table or pretending that I know how to Irish Step dance when I can't sleep.

5.) I can tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue-without looking.

6.) I worked 3 jobs during my senior year in high school. They were Subway, Baskin Robbins, and Krystal

7.) I help my husband (he's a mechanic) work on cars. I change the oil in my car (by myself) and can put in a motor or transmission better than most mechanics. Can you say Girl Power?!

8.) I can't eat steak. I get choked when I try to swallow.

9.) I am a compulsive worrier. I worry about EVERYTHING.

10.) I owe almost $300,000 in medical bills and am in the process of filing bankruptcy. I know that's not a "fun" honest fact about me, but it is a fact. When my husband was diagnosed with chiari malformation and syringomyelia we didn't have any medical insurance. After his brain surgery (followed up a week later by his heart surgery) and LONG stay in ICU and CCU we received a bill in the mail that made me faint (seriously-I fainted)! We will never be able to pay off a bill that large.

Well, that's it. Those are my truths. Now for the fun part. The 7 people I pick (to give this award t0) are (in no particular order):

Kerri at messes and mudpies
Won at Single, Bereaved, Broken, and Tenacious
Jackie at Teacher's Pet
Vicky at The Westra World
Julie at Wife.mom.nurse
EricaJ at Joyous Jabberings
Beth at I AM HEADING TOWARDS MY DESTINY

I look forward to learning more about you all!

  1. Glad to hear all is well again (or least feeling under control at the moment). I'll be praying for your family's health given the current "crisis" with the evil piggy virus.

BTW, I think I'm hooked and I'll be adding you to my stalking, uh.... list of blogs I like to follow.

  2. Thank you, for the award, Kaleena. It was very interesting to learn more about my new friend...and the most intriguing thing is the cherry stem... How did you learn to do it...and...why? :)) Too cute.
I'm glad that you are all home again...and seems like on the mend. Continued blessings on you and your family.
    Many smiles to you, Kaleena...

  3. I know you said that you posted them in no particular order, but I still like the fact that my name is first (hehe).
Guess what? I am seriously silly when I'm tired, I worked at Subway and I was preggo when I got married too. We have a lot in common! Now I have to think about just how honest I want to be! Thanks!

  4. Oh, I HEAR you on the compulsive worrying. In fact, in order to try to control the compulsive worrying, I sometimes compulsive CLEAN. When we thought we were going to lose the baby, and I had to be on bed rest, I thought I would go MAD not being able to clean the house. So I snuck out of bed to clean anyway!

  5. So glad Paisley is well enough to be home! I'd be dancing too :) Even if just on the inside due to being exhausted on the inside. I'll be praying that you can get some sleep - everything's harder when you're tired....

  6. Wow, I was enjoying your list then boom, the last point ... God bless you guys.

I will try my best to do my part. Thanks for choosing me. I did this a LONG time ago. Let me see if I can come up with some more interesting facts. ha.

  7. A 4.0 in school, and 3 jobs at the same time? Double good for you. That's a great accomplishment.

Can you come over and help with my car issues, please?

Ok, I hope you don't take this personally. It is NOT. I am just not much of a joiner on those fact posts. I am honored that you chose me. If any come around requiring one word answers (I've seen some like "favorite color", etc.) than I can handle it. Again, thanks for thinking of me. I'm touched.

I hope you managed some good rest last night.
