In case you are wondering....my 18 year old brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia in February. He has struggled for a long time and is finally trying to get help. He has grown tired of feeling the way he has felt for years. We are very proud of him and only want to ensure that he is safe. I believe that this newest medication will be removed from his list of meds and that something else will be administered instead. I won't be sharing any details of his previous suicide attempts on this blog-it's not my story to share. I would never want to post anything that he hasn't given me permission to share. I know that he would appreciate your prayers though. Please continue to pray that they are able to find the perfect mix of medications for him. I pray that he is able to get back to feeling as good as he was when he was released from the hospital in February. Thank you all for praying and caring for my "baby" brother. He means so much to me. And so do your prayers!
Hugs to you all:)

ReplyDeleteWill keep him in my prayers and hope they find the right combination of meds! Knowing he is under the care and guidance of a doctor is a good sign that he is doing everything he can!
ReplyDeleteAm praying that your brother will stabilise soon and regain his happy place. He is so young and has his life before him. My dad's brother who suffered from schizophrenia unfortunately took his life many years ago when his children were very young. He was such a bright person but when his meds were working and he was feeling good, he would discontinue taking the medication and regress. It is so important with this condition that the sufferer continues the medication and that his loved ones monitor this and impress on him the importance of the meds to his state of mind. My sincere sympathies at this time to you, your siblings and your parents who must be suffering to see their son suffering.
ReplyDeleteYou must have had a stressful night sleeping and worrying about your brother. I hope that he is on the road to recovery and will get the right mix of medicines and therapy so that he can lead a happy and fulfilled life. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt's got to be so hard for your family to go through all of this. It sounds like you all are staying strong for him, and that's so very important for him. I will keep him in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh, dear...will pray! Hope that every aspect of his treatment will work out perfectly! Hugs, Janine
