You see, the 3 little Easter dresses that I've worked very hard on....well, I finally finished them! Yay me! Right? Nope. I left them draped over a chair and went to take a shower. A few minutes later I returned to find Delaney surrounded by rags that looked a whole lot like my dresses. Seems like maybe the girls decided to let Delaney play with their school scissors while I was taking my shower.
Honestly, be glad you weren't here when I saw them. I broke out the UGLY CRY!
I'm talking about an all-out, full blown sob-fest. Our yearly family Spring pictures are scheduled for Tuesday and those dresses were what they were wearing:(
Long story short, guess what I'll be doing ALL WEEKEND LONG? If you guessed that I'll be sewing 3 little dresses all over again......you are correct.
Hope your Saturday is better than mine:)

Oh no! Kaleena...
ReplyDeleteI had that 'uh oh' feeling in my tummy when I first started reading the post.
Little girls (and boys) and their scissors can work wonderous 'art' ...in their eyes. I'm so sorry that the dresses were shredded...but I know that being the hard-working Mommy that you are that all will be right again.
Warmest hugs to you from Jackie
Oh that is so terrible and so hard. I'm sorry hun, I wouldve cried with you! Oh my word. I'm praying you will get the dresses done and have zero sewing disasters!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour last post about what you are thankful for would have been more ironic had you told us you were thankkful for Delaney's therapy skills and had highlighted cutting. But, she was just watching momma have so much fun working on those pretty dresses and wanted her turn. So sorry. Glad you have lifted yourself up and started working on replacement dresses. When we see the pictures we will know how hard you worked on all SIX of them. Hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteOh man! Well, hopefully the sewing of the new dresses goes faster since you'll have the technique down cold. (try hard to find a bright side for you!)
ReplyDeleteI once had a cat that did that to a dress I made for a party. I had made the dress and spread it out, and then went on vacation for a few days. Came home to find that the cat had taken out her anger on my being gone on the dress. I hear you on the ugly cry!
I hope the rest of your weekend looks better!
Oh. My. Goodness! Little kids and the things that they get into. I hope they weren't so damaged that you have to start from the beginning. Then again, you did say rags. Yikes! Hope you get them done on time.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you have been able to sew new ones, and will just as pretty as those that were ruined.
ReplyDeleteohhhh...you must have felt sick! You can only hope that someday (probably not until your girls are adults) you can look back and smile at this :) Maybe? Hope you are able to finish what you want to get done on time!
